January 3, 2011 51 comments

Blog Postings:

Due: Weekly, Posting (500 words) – Thursday 11:59 p.m., Response (150+ words) – Sunday 11:59 p.m.

Each week, you will be expected to post one entry to our course blog.  You will also be required to respond to at least two of your peers’ blog entries.  Entries are expected to engage critically with the assigned readings and viewing for the week and should demonstrate understanding of how the readings apply to the weekly viewing.  These entries will be held to scholarly standards, and you will be expected to use complete sentences and paragraphs, academic language and proper source citations.

Before you post your first blog entry, please register with WordPress (if you aren’t already) and post a comment to this entry so I can add you as a blog user and give you permissions to post to the course blog.

WEEK ONE POSTING:

This week, I would like you to pick one of the television shows you haven’t seen from the list I provided you with on our first day of class.  Find out as much as you can about the show, and post at least the following information here:

  • When was it on the air?
  • Who starred in it?
  • Who produced it?
  • Why is it considered a classic program?
  • What was/were its most famous episode(s) and why?
  • What contemporary programs did it influence?
  • Who might like to watch it and why?

If you don’t recall the list, I’ve added it after the cut.
